Another Stamp of Approval for Arran!
Gold and Outstanding Silver at this years International Wine and Spirit Competition!
This week we recieved the good news from the International Wine and Spirit Competition that four of our entered whiskies had received high awards for their categories.
The Bothy and Lochranza Reserve both received Outstanding Silver Awards as a result of the blind judging, just missing out on the Gold classification. We are delighted to have some of our non-age statement whiskies receive such high accolades, as it reinforces the fact that sometimes it is not all about the age of a whisky, provided there is a high quality in the liquid.
The Arran 18-year-old collected a Gold award; recognition that more time spent in cask only helps to intensify the fruity, citrus nature of the spirit, creating a well rounded dram with charm and personality. This is the second award that our 18-year-old has recieved this year, after recently being recognised as a Category Winner at the World Whiskies Awards 2018.
The Arran 10-year-old also picked up a Gold award. This is just the latest award for our ten year old Arran Malt, having already picked up a Double Gold at this years San Francisco World Spirits Competition as well as a Silver award from the World Whisky Awards 2018.
We are delighted to have received such a well-recognised stamp of approval, on not just one but several of our core expressions. We have always prided ourselves on being able to create an honest dram of quality and it is rewarding to know that all of our hard work is paying off. We cannot wait to repeat the process and watch our Lagg Distillery grow in much the same way.
